Hangzhou, located on the central eastern Chinese coast in the Zhejiang province, is considered “the Silicon Valley of China” for its strong entrepreneurial spirit and infrastructure. Hangzhou is the southern terminus of the ancient Grand Canal waterway, used by Marco Polo in development of trade with the West. Its West Lake, celebrated by poets and artists since the 9th century, encompasses islands, temples, pavilions, gardens and arched bridges. On its south bank is 5-story Leifeng Pagoda, a modern reconstruction of a structure built in 975 A.D. The Zhejiang province surrounding Hangzhou is the source of one of the world’s great teas - the Xihu Longing tea from the slopes on the southwestern shores of West Lake.

In 2018 the Hangzhou Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Overseas Talents invited Amorphyx to apply with over 2,000 startups worldwide. Amorphyx was awarded Third Prize in the Finals, which were broadcast live on Zhejiang provincial TV. Amorphyx was awarded First Prize in the Foreign Students in China special section of the 2019 Hangzhou Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Overseas Talents.

In 2020 Hangzhou Amorphyx Co., Ltd. was incorporated as a China equity joint venture in the Yuhang district of Hangzhou. The company is developing a collaborative relationship with Zhejiang University’s College of Information Science and Electronic Engineering to host Amorphyx technology at the ISEE thin film electronics research laboratory.
